Chapter Leader Removal & Succession Policy

This policy governs the removal, suspension, and succession of Chapter Leaders within Fellowship of Business Leaders (FBL). It exists to protect the mission, nonprofit compliance, brand integrity, member trust, and long-term health of FBL.

1. Authority

Chapter Leaders serve at the discretion of central leadership and do not own or control FBL chapters.

I understand Chapter Leaders serve at the discretion of FBL central leadership.

I understand chapter leadership roles are revocable and are not ownership, equity, or independent authority over FBL.

I understand final authority for removal and succession decisions rests with FBL central leadership.

2. Grounds for Removal

Removal may occur for nonprofit risk, brand violations, cultural harm, governance issues, or reputational damage.

I understand nonprofit and legal violations (political activity, lobbying, misuse of funds/resources) are grounds for immediate action.

I understand brand and representation violations (unauthorized marks, messaging, sub-branding, misrepresentation) may trigger removal.

I understand cultural and leadership failures (pitch culture, quotas, pressure tactics, transactional behavior) may trigger removal.

I understand governance and conduct issues (insubordination, misuse of member data, reputational harm, failure to escalate risks) may trigger removal.

3. Removal Process

FBL may remove immediately in urgent risk cases, or use a corrective path when appropriate.

I understand FBL may execute immediate removal without prior notice to protect nonprofit compliance, finances, and reputation.

I understand in non-urgent cases, FBL may use a corrective path (notice, timeline, expectations) at its discretion.

I understand corrective action is optional and is not guaranteed.

Reality: Mission protection outweighs individual position. Culture protection outweighs convenience.

4. Suspension Authority

FBL may suspend leaders while reviewing issues or stabilizing a chapter during transition.

I understand FBL may temporarily suspend a Chapter Leader during review or investigation.

I understand suspension does not necessarily imply wrongdoing, but preserves organizational integrity.

5. Succession Protocol

Upon removal or resignation, FBL may appoint interim leadership and approve permanent successors.

I understand FBL may appoint an Interim Chapter Leader (internal or external) to stabilize chapter operations.

I understand there is no automatic succession; permanent leaders must be approved by central leadership.

I understand successors must complete required documents (Leader Agreement, Leadership Acknowledgment, and any launch/relaunch gating).

6. Chapter Continuity

Chapters belong to FBL; removal of a leader does not dissolve the chapter.

I understand chapters belong to FBL, not individual leaders, and may be paused, restructured, merged, or relaunched by central leadership.

I understand member continuity and trust take priority over individual leadership roles.

7. Communication Standards

Leadership transitions are communicated minimally and professionally. Confidentiality is expected.

I understand leadership changes may be communicated without public justification or debate.

I agree to maintain confidentiality and avoid public disputes that damage member trust.

8. No Entitlement

Leadership is service, not a right. Removal decisions are final.

I understand chapter leadership is a service role and not an entitlement.

I understand removal decisions are final and there is no guaranteed appeal or reinstatement process.
